Our story

Dar had me in the kitchen at a young age. Whether it was helping with the Thanksgiving dessert preparations, or rolling cookies for the Moog Cookie Exchange, I had my apron on and my stepstool out while I listened to what my mom asked me to help with. Years of bonding over baking in my childhood home, devouring local pastries or sweet treats on our many travels, and making impromptu desserts on scout camping trips fostered my love of anything sweet, and all things desserts. Dar’s selfless and compassionate nature, combined with her love of service made her the most admirable person in my life. My sister is a close second, but only because she once told me watermelons would grow in my stomach if I ate the seeds.

Her support and our time bonding propelled my motivation into teaching myself as much as I could about baking once I left home. After over a decade of becoming the de-facto Dar for both my friends, as well as my now in-laws, I’ve learned and baked a wide number of desserts. Once Dar passed, it was clear to me that the best way to make her proud and keep her alive would be to share the joy of baking she taught me with everyone. Hopefully I can pass on the happiness that she showed me that good desserts can bring.
